Since February 24, the National Police Has Received Appeals About 7,835 Missing Children, Of Which 7,555 Were Found — Yaroslav Shanko, Deputy Head of Juvenile Prevention Directorate

Since the first day of the full-scale war, the National Police has received requests to search for 7,835 missing children. 7,555 of them were found. Yaroslav Shanko, Deputy Head of Juvenile Prevention Directorate of the National Police, made this report during the briefing in Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“In the period from February 24 to today (November 16 — Ed.), the National Police received 7,704 appeals about missing children, namely 7,835 such children. This is 10,000 children since the beginning of the year. Owing to measures taken, 7,555 children have been found, while 280 are still in active search,” Yaroslav Shanko said.

The Deputy Chief noted that after the beginning of the full-scale war, special attention of the National Police units has been focused on establishing the location of children who were missed as a result of military operations. For this purpose, the “Search for Children” chatbot was also launched in the Telegram channel.

“The main task of the chatbot is to simplify the procedure for providing information about a child who is missing or with whom touch has been lost. The chatbot received 151 messages regarding the search for 130 children and 11 adults, of which 87 children have already been found,” Yaroslav Shanko added.
