Over 2,600 Ukrainian educational establishments damaged and 406 destroyed; 12,903 schools currently working — Education Ministry

Ukraine’s educational infrastructure has already suffered and continues to suffer significant losses. However, the educational process doesn’t stop, unlike in other countries in history. Andrii Vitrenko, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“Ukraine is the only country in the history of mankind that did not stop the educational process during the active phase of hostilities on its territory. Currently, we have significant losses of educational infrastructure, which is being recorded: more than 2,600 buildings of educational institutions were damaged, 406 buildings of educational institutions were completely destroyed. Currently, there are 12,903 schools operating in Ukraine-controlled territory. There are 4,967 schools working online only, and 8,205 schools operating in the mixed and traditional format, i.e. offline,” — Vitrenko said.
