Latvia Has Provided Ukraine with Military Equipment Worth More Than 300 Million Euros, a Third of Its Military Budget — Speaker of the Latvian Seimas

Latvia is one of the foremost countries that helps Ukraine. Military assistance worth more than 300 million euros has already been provided. Edvards Smiltēns, Speaker of the Latvian Seimas, told this during the briefing in Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“Now Latvia is one of the foremost countries to provide military assistance to Ukraine. We have provided military assistance, military equipment worth more than 300 million euros. These are howitzers, drones, as well as other facilities, such as equipment for military personnel. In fact, this is a third of our military budget, which puts us at the forefront among countries in proportion to GDP volume with respect to assistance provision to Ukraine. We obviously understand that this is a battle for freedom and freedom is not given just like that, for free. Ukrainians pay for this with their blood, and we pay only with money, only with support. You are fighting for us as well,” Edvards Smiltēns said.

The Speaker of the Latvian Seimas added that the country has also allocated 10 million euros of humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
