Four large mobile pavilions will be built in Odesa oblast for EXPO 2030 – Zaha Hadid Architects
After the exhibition, they can be used for other purposes or transferred to other regions. Manuela Gatto, director of Zaha Hadid Architects, which is developing the pavilion project for EXPO 2030, stated during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine — Odesa.
“Four pavilions will be built in such a way that they can be easily rebuilt for other purposes, for other exhibitions and events. We are also aware of the interest of the IT sector in these pavilions, so we have designed them in such a way that they can be easily moved along the Black Sea coast and the Dnipro. And the use of ecological elements in the construction will be a guarantee that EXPO 2030 will take place with minimal consequences for the environment,” said Manuela Gatto.
As Manuela Gatto, director of Zaha Hadid Architects, added, there is hope that EXPO 2030 will turn Odesa into the southern exhibition hub of Ukraine.
Deputy head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Roman Hrygoryshyn added, that the exhibition in Odesa is planned to be held on the territory of more than 250 hectares within the city limits. In addition, the site will become a platform for the creation of the country’s largest technology park, data centers, IT hubs, laboratories and other research facilities. It will turn into a closed IT town where 40 thousand people will be able to live and work.
