“Energy Ramstein” works: Ukraine receives equipment from EU, Japan and U.S. — Energy Industry Research Center

Ukraine receives equipment to repair its power grid from many countries of the world. To that end, active work is being carried out every single day. Oleksandr Kharchenko, Director at the Energy Industry Research Center made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“In my opinion, the dialogue is very active, the “Energy Ramstein” exists, it’s just not focused in one place, as it was with Ramstein base. But it actually works, and it works very well,” — Oleksandr Kharchenko said.

However, according to him, this dialogue is often very difficult due to the technical peculiarities of Ukrainian and foreign power grids.

“For example, Ukraine uses 750-kilovolt lines, these are very powerful lines for transporting electricity, while Europe does not use those. And these types of equipment have to be negotiated with colleagues from South Korea, Japan, and the U.S.A. That is, there are certain peculiarities in this dialogue,” — the Director at the Energy Industry Research Center explained.
