11,129 Children Were Illegally Deported to Russia, 103 of Them Have Been Returned – Yaroslav Shanko, Deputy Head of Juvenile Prevention Directorate
According to the National Information Bureau, 11,129 Ukrainian children were illegally deported to Russia. 103 children have been returned. Yaroslav Shanko, Deputy Head of Juvenile Prevention Directorate of the National Police, made this report during the briefing in Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“Under martial law, the issue of children’s safety and protection has become particularly relevant. State institutions are currently developing mechanisms, as well as their legal consolidation in legislation of Ukraine for the return of these children. Illegal deportation, premeditated murders, sexual violence against adults and children – this is not the whole list of criminal acts of russian invaders against the Ukrainian population,” Yaroslav Shanko said.
The Deputy Head of Juvenile Prevention Department of the National Police noted that work is currently underway to establish the facts of child smuggling and the commission of war crimes against children on the liberated territories.
