Situation with electricity in Odesa significantly improves after last accident, ‘bottlenecks’ in system to be eliminated soon — Kudrytskyi

At the beginning of February, a large-scale accident occurred at a substation in Odesa, leaving 500,000 residents without electricity. Currently, restoration work continues. Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Chairman of the Management Board of NPC Ukrenergo, made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“I don’t want to comment on the current situation with Odesa’s energy supply in great detail, so as not to give extra information to the enemy. It is obvious that the situation in the city, when compared with the moment right after the last accident, is now much better. It is qualitatively different. There are certain limitations connected to the inability of the network to supply power to 100% of the city and the district, but we are working on removing all limitations in Odesa and other regions, where we may occasionally have problems with supplying electricity to consumers. I expect that in the coming weeks, provided that there are no new large-scale destructions and damages to our infrastructure, we will be able to eliminate ‘the bottlenecks’ in the energy system,” — Kudrytskyi said.
