“Since the Start of the All-out War Rescuers Defused Over 68,000 Items of Ordnance,” State Emergency Service
During the last day, SES’ deminers defused 1,592 items of ordnance and 1 air bomb. Oleksandr Khorunzhyy, Press Officer of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, reported these figures during his briefing at Ukraine Media Center.
Overall, SES units defused more than 68,000 ordnance items and 1,938 air bombs after the onset of russia’s all-out invasion of Ukraine. Most of this work was done in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Chernihiv Oblasts.
SES rescuers estimate the area contaminated with explosive items in Ukraine to exceed 300,000 square meters. This figure applies to the Government-controlled territory only.
Currently, the State Emergency Service cannot estimate the scale of mining in the occupied areas.
