Since the beginning of August, the occupiers have detained 241 people in Donbas for refusing to receive a Russian passport – human rights activists 

In the occupied territories, so-called security forces detain people for 30 days without explanation. This was stated by Vira Yastrebova, attorney, director of the NGO “Shidna Pravosazahisna Grupa” (Eastern Human Rights Group), at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.

“Over the past two weeks, the occupiers have detained 138 people in Luhansk and Donetsk regions under the guise of administrative arrest, and 103 people in Donetsk region. These data are only for certain cities, the total number may be higher. People are being detained because they refuse to apply for a Russian passport,” – the human rights activist said.

Vira Yastrebova added that the occupiers have started a large-scale passportization in the cities of deprivation of liberty in the occupied territories.
