Since start of year, 76 people die on railway tracks

Since the beginning of the year, 120 people have been injured on the railway track, 76 of them have died.

Taras Pasichnyk, Deputy Director of the Labor Protection Department of Ukrzaliznytsia, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“Since the beginning of the year, 120 people have been injured, of whom 76 have unfortunately died,” he said.

According to Taras Pasichnyk, out of 120 accidents that happened on the railway tracks this year, six involved children, two of whom died.

The Ukrzaliznytsia representative noted that in almost 90% of cases, injuries were caused by collisions involving rolling stock, with another reason being electric shock.
