Since start of all-out war, 31.7 million people cross border, of whom 27.7 million are citizens of Ukraine, passenger traffic decreased by 13% over year — State Border Guard Service

Currently, the passenger traffic at the state border of Ukraine remains quite busy, however it is on a downward trend. Andriy Demchenko, Spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“After the holidays, the number of border crossings decreased. Now they fluctuate at the level of 75,000-85,000 people per day in both directions. Over the past day, a total of 72,000 people crossed the border, 35,000 of them for departure and 37,000 for entry. In January, there was no noticeable majority among those seeking entry or exit. According to forecasts, the overall passenger traffic will be on a downward trend. In total, since February 24, 31.7 million people have officially crossed the border, of whom 27.7 million are citizens of Ukraine. Compared to 2021, the total passenger traffic in 2022 decreased by 13%,” — Demchenko said.
