Since Russia mounted its full-scale invasion, 2828 Ukrainian citizens were repatriated in exchange – Andriy Yusov

Since the start of the full-blown war, Ukraine has carried out 49 prisoner exchanges. In particular, in early January 2024, the biggest release of captives took place, involving the return of 230 Ukrainians from Russian captivity.

Andriy Yusov, representative of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, said this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform. 

“We recently had the largest prisoner swap during the full-scale invasion, the 49th, and 230 Ukrainian citizens, defenders, and civilians returned home. In total, Ukraine exchanged over 2,828 POWs since the full-scale invasion,” noted Andriy Yusov.
