Serhii Marchenko: Ukraine will need USD 38.4 billion in external financing for 2025
The amount of external financing that Ukraine will need next year will total USD 38.4 billion.
This was announced by Serhii Marchenko, Minister of Finance of Ukraine, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“The key issue is external financing. Right now we are looking at a figure of USD 38.4 billion. This is the external financing requirement for 2025. This is the amount that we will cover by working with our partners. It is primarily the European Union, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom and other G7 countries. Our cooperation with the International Monetary Fund is also crucial. So this is perhaps the most important – to ensure consistent and full financing from our partners,” he said.
Serhii Marchenko also stressed that the domestic market remains important as a balancing factor. Borrowing from the domestic market will be used to cover military expenses and to finance cash flow gaps and other expenditures if there are insufficient funds from tax revenues.
