The russians are destroying the irrigation canals around Melitopol, and use the slabs from the canals to build fortifications. In this way, the occupiers are trying to hold a line of defense near the temporarily occupied city. Ivan Fedorov, Mayor of Melitopol made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform. Also, Fedorov says, the russians used several Melitopol industrial enterprises to build this line of defense. And the occupiers made the city their logistical and administrative center in the south of Ukraine.

“This is exactly how they are using our city today, turning it into ruins and a dump. For the past 3 days, the Crimean Bridge has not been open to public transport, so today motor vehicles pass through Melitopol and its outskirts regularly, our residents see this every day. There are movements both in Kherson direction and towards Zaporizhia front line,” — Ivan Fedorov said.
