Russian aviation is no longer able to throw guided bombs at the Ukr foothold near Dnipro – Southern Ukrainian defence forces

There was no more guided aerial bombs strikes at the right bank of Dnipro and the bridgehead in the village of Krynky after recent destroying of Russian fighter jets and bombers, when Ukrainian defenders shot down three Russian Su-34.

This was reported by Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, at a briefing at the Ukraine-Odesa Media Center.

“I would like to remind you that our Armed Forces began shooting down aircraft from the beginning of December. Thus, on December 5, the first Russian aircraft of this winter was shot down over Zmeinyi Island. After that, the Southern Defense Forces increased their combat capability. Let me remind you that the enemy actively used its tactical aircraft until December 22, and managed to drop 330 guided bombs during that month. However, after the elimination of these three “dry runs”, the enemy calmed down not only on land but also in the Black Sea,” – said the head of the press center of the Southern Defense Forces.

Natalia Gumenyuk noted that now we need to be vigilant when enemy drones fly, both chessmen and fpv drones, which the Russian occupiers are now actively using on the right and left banks of the Dnipro.

“In December, the enemy launched 270 shaheds in southern Ukraine. Only four nights this month were calm, but drones were flying in other regions of Ukraine. Let me remind you that December 14 was the most powerful drone attack. Back then, 39 out of 41 shaheds were shot down in our skies. Russians are using fpv drones in the frontline areas of Kherson region, 112 attacks with such weapons were recorded. There were also 220 attacks from guided drones that drop fragmentation munitions,” summarized Natalia Humeniuk.
