Russia mobilizes about 20 thousand people every month – the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine

A large-scale mobilization campaign is underway in Russia. These measures continue every day. About 20 thousand people are involved every month. 

Andriy Yusov, Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, made the relevant report during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“Every month, several dozen, about 20 thousand people are mobilized. Recently, Moscow Mayor Sobyanin indicated a very interesting figure—45 thousand Moscow residents who are allegedly at the front in the occupied territories of Ukraine. Before that, the figure was 35 thousand people. This means that the mayor of Moscow actually admitted that only 10 thousand Muscovites have been mobilized in the past few months,” he said.

According to him, this campaign is ongoing and is carried out in different ways and by various methods.

“As a result, they are forced to sign contracts or in some other way. But, nevertheless, it is about coercion. And for the most part, it does not concern the children of institutional officials and oligarchs. No, these are guest workers or people who have recently received a Russian passport. By the way, this is another criterion – obtaining a Russian passport creates a potential threat, with a very high probability that a person will be captured and sent by Putin to war-torn Ukraine, where they will either be killed or taken prisoner,” he added.

Andriy Yusov emphasized that since Ukraine adheres to international law and the Geneva Conventions, the only way to save the lives of Russian soldiers is to surrender to Ukrainian captivity voluntarily.
