russia kills 353 children, deports over 5,000 — Daria Herasymchuk
As of today, 1,032 children suffered from russia’s full-scale military aggression in Ukraine.
The official number of child casualties are 353 dead and 679 wounded, Daria Herasymchuk, Advisor and Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for Children’s Rights said at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“It is impossible to state the exact number of victims. The russists do not let anyone enter the occupied territories even to bury children.”
“As for the deportation and forced relocation of Ukrainian children by the occupiers, according to the russian authorities, we are talking about 350,000 “evacuated” children. No one is going to return these children, so we are talking about forced relocation. Unfortunately, we cannot say exactly how many children were kidnapped by russia. Currently, the known figure is 5,100 children. This is according to the data from the appeals to the National Information Bureau,” — the President’s Commissioner pointed out.
According to her, russia has abducted children who are deprived of parental care, as well as those who lost their parents as the result of the occupiers’ shelling.
“On August 1, a unified information platform “Children of War” will begin to function, where all information and statistics about Ukrainian children who suffered from the war will be collected and updated daily. It is this platform that will become the main source of information for citizens who want to help such children, for journalists and for law enforcement agencies,” — Daria Herasymchuk said.
So far, 46 children have been returned to Ukraine.
