Romania could help Ukraine to organize a new “grain corridor” – Romanian expert
However, it is unlikely to be military assistance. This opinion was expressed at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa by Claudiu Digeratu, an independent expert and associate professor at the Faculty of History at the University of Bucharest.
He said that the Romanian government had already pledged to help Ukraine export agricultural products through Romanian ports, inland waterways, roads, and railways.
“We do not exclude the possibility of our assistance in organizing a new humanitarian, “grain corridor” at sea. But when it comes to these corridors, we need to coordinate efforts with NATO partners, because russia can attack commercial vessels. We need to make diplomatic efforts. russia wants to “sell” the renewal of the grain deal and get something for itself,” the expert said.
He added that Romania cannot help with its armed forces to ensure the operation of such a corridor without the capabilities of the navy.
“Certain tasks can be accomplished with naval military drones, but this is not enough. But we are ready to assist Ukraine with security and intelligence information,” – Dr. Digeratu said.
