Restoring and strengthening the fleet: Navy spokesman highlights key partnerships
Ukrainian military specialists, particularly sailors, are primarily undergoing training in foreign countries, with a wide range of nations providing critical support.
Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, highlighted these efforts during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“We can’t disclose it [the full list of countries – Ed.], but it’s an extensive one. The UK remains one of our key partners, openly supporting us and providing ships. Norway is another significant contributor, along with many others,” Pletenchuk said.
The training extends beyond sailors, with Ukrainian military personnel from various specialties also honing their skills abroad.
“Our specialists—especially sailors—are predominantly trained overseas,” Pletenchuk explained. “This involves hundreds of personnel, but it’s not limited to them. Specialists across a wide range of fields, from combat medics to operators of advanced combat and weapons systems, also receive training. Given the diversity of our needs, this is an ongoing process, practically a conveyor belt. Even units engaged in combat operations rotate their personnel for retraining, refresher courses, and specialized instruction.”
