Project to unite all veteran owned businesses: interactive map launched in Ukraine
From now on, veteran owned businesses will be easy to find in every city via the interactive map.
The interactive map of veteran businesses within the framework of the concept “Veteran’s Way. Business” was presented by the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation, LUN and Uklon at BrainHub, countries main discussion platform, at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
Denys Sudilkovsky, Chief Marketing Officer at LUN, Ambassador of the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation, said that the first added veteran owned businesses can already be spotted on the interactive map.
“We see the future of Ukraine as one where veterans are respected, and where veteran owned business receives preferential treatment not only when it comes to the economic or tax field – it receives preferential treatment directly from users. When choosing between several businesses, we want people to prefer those businesses founded by veterans. Specifically, for this purpose, to popularize the idea that veterans are starting amazing businesses, and to promote the idea of paying attention to who the founder of this business is – this is why we created this map. One can already see the first added veteran owned businesses in all the regions of Ukraine on this map, as well as submit an application for adding new businesses there,” he explained.
At the same time Ruslana Velychko-Trifonyuk, Acting Executive Director of the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, emphasized that all businesses represented on the map are verified.
“As the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation provides financial support, we, as a state institution, accordingly check the financial reports and other reports on these businesses. And accordingly, we can testify that this is a business that works, provides quality services and a business that really belongs to veterans, because we, as a state, review both the founding documents and absolutely all other statuses,” she emphasized and added that the map is constantly receiving updates, and regardless of the form of business the veteran runs, it will be added to the map.
In turn, Dmytro Dubrovskyi, Co-Founder and CEO of Uklon, Ambassador of the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation, mentioned the importance of reintegration of veterans, the company’s initiatives and support of the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation.
“We understood from the very beginning that the issue of veterans and their reintegration into society would arise. And it is necessary to apply efforts to solve this issue now. Therefore, we support all initiatives of the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation. In this project, we probably act more as a logistics partner, because we at Uklon launched such a project as “Inclusive class”, that is, we launched several cars specially equipped for the transportation of people with limited mobility. Thus, (we – Ed.) are essentially integrated into this map, which includes inclusive places, where people with disabilities can go,” he added.
It is worth noting that currently the map includes primarily businesses that have passed the competitive selection of the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation. The map will continue to be filled, LUN will keep on verifying these businesses so that it will be the veteran businesses that are represented there, so that these are verified and real working businesses.
At the moment, each type of business on the map is marked with its own icon, and in the future, with more businesses added there will be more methods for sorting and selection.
To add a business, veterans can apply directly via the map itself, where there is a corresponding function, or contact the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation, the team of which will guide and inform about other initiatives for veteran businesses.
In order for the map to be seen by as many people as possible, it will be distributed with the help of such platforms as Uklon and LUN, as well as platforms and opportunities of the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation.
Currently, the map is available at the website of the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation, later it will be available in the Uklon application.
