Practically all russian troops pulled from Belarus – State Border Guard Service

Until recently, the number of russian military personnel stationed in Belarus and involved in training efforts at the Belarusian training grounds was about 2,000. However, recently their number has decreased.

Andrii Demchenko, Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“Until recently, we documented this number somewhere at the level of 2,000 servicemen. But as of now, another rotation has occurred, and almost all russian military personnel have been withdrawn from the territory of Belarus,” said Andrii Demchenko.

At the same time, he warned that it cannot be ruled out that after some time, as part of the rotation, additional units may come back to the territory of Belarus.

Andrii Demchenko also noted that, despite the fact that Belarus prepared locations for russian mercenaries from private military companies, as of now they haven’t actually arrived there.

“In addition, we do not observe such an organized influx of russian mercenaries from private military campaigns into the territory of Belarus, which was mentioned earlier, because Belarus was preparing such sites to receive russian mercenaries on its territory,” said the Spokesperson of the Border Guard Service said.

Andrii Demchenko also emphasized that the situation along the border with Belarus remains fully under control.
