Parliament will consider extending the deadline for military medical commission (MMC) for partially fit persons – Fedir Venislavskyi
Due to a combination of objective and subjective factors, less than half of the citizens classified as partially fit have received a referral to the military medical commission, which they were required to undergo by February 5. As a result, the Verkhovna Rada in its upcoming sessions will consider extending the MMC deadline for people with limited fitness by three months.
This was announced by Fedir Venislavskyi, MP and member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“We have considered the issue before registering the relevant bill to extend the MMC deadline for people with limited fitness until May 5,” Venislavskyi said.
The MP explained that failure to meet the required deadlines, regardless of the reason, constitutes a violation of military registration rules, which carries administrative liability. To avoid penalizing individuals who were unable to complete the MMC on time, the parliament is now considering a three-month extension.
“A decision was made to consider the bill and extend the deadline by three months in order to avoid holding citizens administratively liable. This will allow Ukrainian citizens who have no other valid reasons for not undergoing the MMC to complete the process and be recognized as fit or unfit for military service. I believe that during the next parliamentary sessions we will consider and pass these bills,” Venislavskyi added.
