Over the year, 55,000 Ukrainians were denied border crossing – SBGS

The majority of those denied border crossing were men between the ages of 16 and 60.

This was stated by Andrii Demchenko, spokesman for the SBGS, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“In the 11 months of this year, with a total of 32.3 million border crossings, almost 55,000 Ukrainians were denied the right to cross the border. Of course, the main category of those denied crossing consisted of Ukrainian men between the ages of 16 and 60, as they did not meet the conditions for crossing the border. Some people lacked the necessary documents, for example, they forgot to bring them, which also contributes to these statistics. Others genuinely did not have the necessary reasons for crossing the border and were denied crossing. In addition, there is a category of persons who are prohibited from crossing by decision of authorized state bodies, and they are also included in the statistics. However, the vast majority of those denied passage were men between the ages of 16 and 60,” Demchenko explained.
