Over past six months, economic effect of NABU’s activities amounts to over UAH 1.6 billion
The first half of 2023 was marked by high-profile revelations – the Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development was exposed as a participant in an illegal scheme connected to the distribution of funds allocated to the recovery following the enemy attacks. The former Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, officials of the regional council and Ternopil Oblast Military Administration, people’s deputies were also exposed along with the large-scale corruption in the Supreme Court.
Semen Kryvonos, Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), made this statement during the presentation of the results of work of the NABU and Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) in the first half of 2023 at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
At the same time, he noted that the economic effect of NABU’s activities amounted to over UAH 1.6 billion in the first half of the year.
“The economic effect of NABU’s activities in the first half of the year amounted to UAH 1.678 billion. But these numbers also show that we also have a significant economic effect, and this amount exceeds budget-allocated costs for running NABU,” he explained.
In addition, Semen Kryvonos noted that the NABU and SAPO allocated almost UAH 2 billion to the needs of the Armed Forces and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
