Only hull remains of the ship, everything burned down – Yurii Ihnat on destruction of enemy landing ship Novocherkask

Thanks to a well-coordinated attack by the Ukrainian defenders, it was possible to destroy the enemy ship with the occupiers inside and next to it.

Yurii Ihnat, Spokesperson of the Air Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“Photos have already come out – there is only the hull of this ship left, everything burned down, practically to pieces. After such an explosion, it is clear that not only the ship itself was completely destroyed, but possibly the port infrastructure as well, possibly the support vessels that were nearby too, and the ship’s crew, which was nearby and in the ship itself. This is a very powerful event. We destroyed both the ship and the invaders thanks to clearly coordinated actions. The Air Force Commander thanked all those involved, those who worked on preparing this operation, and those who carried it out. Hence, this is the Armed Forces and other Defense Forces who participated in the planning and the pilots of tactical aircraft who used cruise missiles to follow through and did what everyone has, apparently, already seen,” Yurii Ihnat noted.

As reported, on the night of December 26, Ukrainian defenders blew up the russian landing ship Novocherkask in occupied Feodosia.
