One in three apartment buildings in Kyiv has been damaged by Russian shelling – activists 

50% of the damage from Russian airstrikes occurred in 2025. In January 2026 alone, 40 locations were affected.

Kateryna Raputa, coordinator of the “Brave to Rebuild” initiative to address the aftermath of shelling, stated this during a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center. 

“Kyiv has been severely battered over the past year. One in three buildings has been damaged by Russian shelling,” she noted.
