Oleh Korikov: russian claims of Ukrainian threats to Kursk Nuclear Plant are baseless

russia’s allegations about potential threats to the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant from Ukraine are entirely false and part of a disinformation campaign, according to Oleh Korikov, the head of Ukraine’s State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate and Chief State Inspector for Nuclear and Radiation Safety.

Speaking at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine, Korikov argued that moscow’s false allegations are an attempt to divert attention from the outdated and dangerous technologies at the Kursk facility itself.

“Ukraine is not russia, and will never engage in nuclear blackmail, unlike russia. In fact, the real threat comes from the Kursk plant, which endangers Ukraine and neighboring nations. russian claims of Ukrainian threats are sheer PSYOPs and feceitful fakes, designed to mask the fact that their aging nuclear technologies pose a significant danger,” Korikov stated.
