Oksana Hryhorieva: It’s time to launch defense industry enterprises and engage women in Ukrainian defense
Launching defense industry enterprises and involving women in the production of military goods is a timely initiative, according to Oksana Hryhorieva, Gender Advisor to the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Hryhorieva shared her views during a discussion at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“The government should prioritize this effort, particularly through the ministries responsible for the economy and social development,” Hryhorieva stated. “We can establish enterprises linked to state-owned weapons producer Ukroboronprom and actively involve women in Ukrainian defense by producing essential military items like drones. Our women have exceptional skills, and we can leverage their talents. However, this requires a cohesive state policy. It’s crucial to appeal to lawmakers and institutions like the Equal Opportunities IFA, which supports such initiatives, to legislate the establishment of enterprises for women to have a place in the workforce. This will create jobs and boost wages,” she emphasized.
