Odesa region is 30% ready for the heating season – military administration

Anton Shalyhailo, director of the housing and energy efficiency department of the Odesa regional military administration, said this at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine-Odesa.

“In Odesa region, 397 boiler houses have been brought into readiness, which is 30% of the total number in the region. 576 km of heating networks have been prepared, or 30% of the planned volume; 2,701 apartment buildings have been inspected, or 30.5% of the plan; preparatory work has been carried out in 152 pre-schools and 195 educational institutions, or 32% of the need, respectively,” –  the official said.

He added that the necessary measures have also been taken in 126 healthcare facilities, or 31.6% of their total number. In addition, 98 units of specialised equipment (30%) have been prepared for work in winter conditions and 30% of the required stock of sprinkling material and reagents have been procured.

The official also noted that the preparations took into account the experience of the previous winter, namely, the emphasis was placed on providing alternative sources of electricity to social infrastructure facilities and ensuring additional physical protection of critical infrastructure facilities.
