Occupants used the burned in Crimea warship as a military cargo carrier – South Defence forces

The large landing ship Novocherkassk, which burned down last night in the bay of the temporarily occupied Feodosia, has been used by the Russian occupiers to provide their own logistics and transport ammunition.

This was stated by Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, at a briefing at the Ukraine-Odesa Media Center.

“The logistics of the occupation forces were severely disrupted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A large landing ship was heavily loaded in the Crimean port. It was detonating and burning for a long time, which means that it was carrying not only ammunition and full tanks of fuel, but possibly some other military cargo. But we are not going to say now that it was a shahideen or something else until we check all the information that is being clarified,” said the head of the Joint Coordination Press Center.

The spokeswoman emphasized that the vessels that were nearby were most likely damaged along with the large landing ship, as well as the port infrastructure in the temporarily occupied Feodosia wad destroyed or damaged. 

“Everyone is interested in continuing in hitting of Russian ships. Therefore, we all need to wait for official information from our intelligence to find out which warships near the Novocherkassk were damaged and what the extent of the damage was. It is known that it was not standing there alone. A large fire, which was extinguished until the morning, allows us to say that a lot of things burned there. But let’s wait for verified data,” Natalia summarized.
