No Monkeypox Cases Recorded in Ukraine as of Now

Ihor Kuzin, Ukraine’s Chief Sanitary Doctor, said so during his briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform today, on June 6.

“We communicated relevant instructions on disease progression, diagnostics, and treatment to our centers for disease control and prevention. We are waiting for PCR tests from the WHO to detect the disease. As regards the vaccination for monkeypox, two shots are recommended. However, there are no prerequisites for a mass-scale vaccination,” he emphasized.

 The virus is transmitted from person to person slowly; thus, there is hardly any chance that the outbreak will grow into a pandemic.
