No extreme cold expected in Ukraine in near future, temperature may stay above 10 °C in south of country
Despite the absence of extremely cold weather, snow may still remain in Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions.
Natalia Ptukha, Head of the Media Communication Department of Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center of the State Emergency Service, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“A significant drop in temperature and severe frosts are not expected in the near future. On the contrary, at the end of the week, temperatures may rise above 10 degrees in the south of the country. This is quite high for the beginning of December, and accordingly all the snow cover, which has now formed there in the southern and eastern regions, will melt, and by the end of the week it will be practically gone. And due to the fact that on Wednesday, the cyclone will bring rain to these areas, the snow cover will melt there. But the snow cover will remain in the northern part of the country. In Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions, the snow may still linger,” Natalia Ptukha said.
