Nearly half of russians trust Yevgeny Prigozhin and believe he is still alive – political scientist Vadym Denysenko

According to a new survey conducted on the territory of the russian federation by the newspaper Dilova Stolytsia in collaboration with the sociological firm New Image Marketing Group, 48% of russians trust Yevgeny Prigozhin, who was liquidated exactly one year ago, reportedly, by order of vladimir putin. During a briefing at Media Center of Ukraine, Vadym Denysenko said that 37% of respondents believe that Prigozhin really died, and another 16% could not answer the question. In general, 47% of surveyed russians assume that Yevgeny Prigozhin is still alive.

“His trust rating is as high as that of the Defense Minister Belousov and significantly higher than that of Chief of the General Staff Gerasimov and former Defense Minister Shoigu,” Denysenko noted.

vladimir putin leads in trust rating, with 76% of respondents mentioning him. Minister of Foreign Affairs of russia, sergey lavrov takes the second place among the most popular politicians of the russian federation with 71%. Also, 74% of the respondents trust the army as a whole, and 61% trust the executive central government.

In addition, Volodymyr Nahirnyi, an expert at the National Institute for Strategic Studies, said that while the level of putin’s support is very high, the peak of his popularity has already passed, and putin is losing the support of young and middle-aged people.

“So far, there is no reason to say that we should expect a sharp drop in trust in him (putin – Ed.). But what we can observe are quite serious shifts within his support base, and this survey shows it. putin’s social base is getting older, a significant part of young people and middle-aged people express opinions on a number of positions that are not typical of those who support putin. The high level of support is due to the fact that there is no alternative,” said Nahirnyi.
