Most attempts to use enemy sabotage groups take place in Sumy region – Andrii Demchenko

In addition to the daily shelling of Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions originating from the territory of russia, the enemy also attempts to use sabotage and reconnaissance groups trying to enter the territory of Ukraine, both in small and larger numbers.

Most of such attempts are observed in Sumy region, where quite often Ukrainian defenders, border guards and servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard also reinforcing this section of the border with the aggressor country uncover such groups.

Andrii Demchenko, Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

According to him, there are slightly fewer cases of the enemy’s use of saboteurs in Chernihiv direction, but they are still happening.

On the other hand, the Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service noted that almost no enemy sabotage groups have recently been observed in Kharkiv region.

“This does not rule out that the enemy will not do so in that area, but at the moment, the most attempts are observed in Sumy region,” Andrii Demchenko added.

He emphasized that Ukrainian defenders are prioritizing this area and doing everything possible to strengthen it. The measures are also being taken to expose such sabotage groups.

“This includes the use of unmanned aerial vehicles that monitor the border and border lines, despite the fact that the enemy is also actively engaged in radio-electronic warfare, trying to make it impossible to use drones. But as soon as the enemy saboteurs appear, fire is immediately opened on them, and they move behind the line of our state border, not being able to enter the depth of our territory,” he emphasized.
