More than 35,000 square kilometers of land in Ukraine demined last year

In 2024, more than 35,000 square kilometers of land in Ukraine were demined, making these areas safe for economic activity.

This was announced by Ihor Bezkaravainyi, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine, during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.

“Last year we passed the mark of 35,000 square kilometers. These are areas where economic activity can now be carried out safely,” he said.

According to him, the efforts included humanitarian demining, rapid response operations, and restoration of suspected hazardous areas to a safe condition, all carried out at a distance of up to 20 kilometers from the front line.
