“More and More Ukrainians Come Back Home, But the Stream of Refugees from Ukraine Has Not Stopped Yet,” State Border Guard Service of Ukraine

Currently, 60 to 70 thousand people leave Ukraine per day. Andrii Demchenko, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine speaker, said this during his briefing at Ukraine Media Center in Lviv.  One can compare it with 120 to 130 thousand people exiting the country during the first weeks of russia’s all-out war against Ukraine.

The number of people coming back to Ukraine grew substantially. Every day, up to 30 thousand citizens cross the state border to enter the country. During the first days of the war, the number of returnees never exceeded 15 thousand people per day.

Overall, more than 4 million people crossed the state border in both directions after February 24. Most of them left Ukraine via the border between Ukraine and Poland.
