Ministry of Infrastructure and Ukravtodor Work on the Open Border Project, a Joint Effort Aimed to Increase the Number of Lanes and Throughput
Andrii Ivko, First Deputy Head of Ukravtodor, Ukraine’s State Road Agency, stated this during his briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
Ukravtodor not only renovates the infrastructure destroyed by russia but also implements additional projects.
“The Ministry of Infrastructure manages the Open Border Project, but we work on it together. It will enable increasing the number of cars passing the border and increase exports,” Andrii Ivko said.
The work goes on in 5 border regions, including Krakivets–Korczowa checkpoint. The goal is to increase the number of lanes and the throughput.
“Construction and organizational work is being done now. The official grand opening will take place next week. This project will increase the number of trucks traveling to Europe. In addition, we will create comfortable conditions for drivers awaiting their turn [to cross the border],” he explained.
