Ministry for Veterans Affairs cooperates with over 40 health facilities that already provided over 7,000 psychological counseling services to veterans — Laputina

Ukrainian veterans have the opportunity to receive psychological help in the same health facilities where they undergo treatment and rehabilitation. Yulia Laputina, Minister for Veteran Affairs of Ukraine made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“Since July, we have initiated a new regulation, introducing a mechanism where treatment and rehabilitation facilities that meet certain criteria are in direct contractual relations with us as the Ministry for Veterans Affairs. That is, if a health facility has a multidisciplinary team consisting of a psychiatrist, a psychoneurologist and two psychologists, it signs a contract directly with us. And veterans undergoing rehabilitation there receive psychological help at the same time. During this period, we have already provided more than 7,000 services in this area. A person does not need to turn to psychologists after they are rehabilitated, receive a prosthesis and enter civilian life. A team of psychologists works with them in the same facility. More than 40 facilities have signed contracts with us,” — the Minister said.
