Military registration documents checks: State Border Guard Service reports on denied border crossings
On July 17, when additional requirements for men to have a military registration document to cross the border took effect, 87 people were denied crossing in a single day. However, the number of people denied crossing due to the lack of a military registration document significantly decreased after that.
Andrii Demchenko, Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“On the first day (July 17 – Ed.), border crossing was denied to a total of 87 people due to the lack of a military registration document, with the total number of denials increasing insignificantly. As for those categories of men who used to have the right to cross the border before that – some came to the border simply having forgotten their military registration documents, some did not have them at all. But in the following days, the number of denials due to the lack of military registration documents has significantly decreased and has remained at the level of 20-30 people in recent days,” he said.
According to Andrii Demchenko, since July 17, state border crossing was denied to a total of 1,300 people, 317 of whom were refused precisely due to the lack of military registration documents.
