Medicinal cannabis-based drugs may be prescribed as early as January 2025 – Olha Stefanyshyna

The first registration of a medical cannabis-based drug is currently underway, and it is likely that such drugs could be prescribed to patients as early as January 2025.

This was announced by MP Olga Stefanyshyna, member of the Committee on Public Health, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“As far as I know, the first registration of a medicine (based on medical cannabis – ed.) is already in progress. We hope it will be finalized in December. From what I’ve heard, the process is going smoothly. We are monitoring it closely to make sure there are no corruption risks. Therefore, we are optimistic that by January it will be possible to prescribe medical cannabis-based drugs,” the MP explained.
