Massive attacks are possible: Natalia Humeniuk about threats ahead of Independence Day
The ship group is currently seen listing in the area of the southeastern coast of Crimea and in the direction of Novorossiysk. There are now 13 ships of naval forces concentration, one of which is monitoring the surface situation in the Sea of Azov. There are no missile carriers on combat duty. However, there are many risks of shelling remains, as it is possible to hit them even from the bay.
It was emphasized by Natalia Humeniuk, Head of the United Coordinating Press Center of Security and Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine, at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
She also commented on possible threats of shelling arising on Ukraine’s Independence Day.
“It’s too soon to relax, and knowing the enemy tends to choose important dates and holidays, the rising threat is likely during this period, and massive attacks are possible, including those launched by surface-to-surface missile carriers and submarine missile carriers, strategic and tactical aircraft, and attack drones. Therefore, we are talking about a possible and probable threat that will increase closer to important dates,” she explained and added that the absence of enemy ships in service might indicate preparations.
In addition, according to Natalia Humeniuk, the activity of MiGs over the past two days may indicate preliminary coordination of air forces. And this, she emphasized, is also an indirect sign of preparation for attacks.
