“Map of Valor and Memories of the Ukrainian People” created in Ukraine

The NGO “Ukraine Incognita” in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports has developed the “Map of Valor and Memories of the Ukrainian People”, marking the locations of significant events from different periods of Ukrainian history.

The project was presented at the Media Center Ukraine.

According to the developers, the map currently features over 130 locations, including sites of victorious battles involving Ukrainians and indigenous peoples. Users can explore events broadly or filter them by specific historical periods.

The map will continue to be updated with additional locations and detailed information about the events. The developers also plan to create videos and podcasts with historians to provide in-depth insights into the events.

Creating the map and populating it with content is only the first phase of the project. The second phase will involve the installation of interpretive kiosks at the identified sites. These kiosks will include descriptions of the historical events, along with QR codes that link to a website for more in-depth information.

The first five kiosks will be installed at the following locations: Bila Tserkva (Kyiv oblast), Skybyn (Kyiv oblast), Novi Zagoriv village (Volyn oblast), Kremenets (Ternopil oblast), Vyshhorod (Kyiv oblast).

The third phase will focus on improving accessibility, including building paved roads to the sites and creating memorials at the sites.
