Kharkiv region faces new year surge in hostile reconnaissance activity – Andrii Demchenko

Since the start of 2025, attempts by hostile sabotage and reconnaissance groups have already been identified, particularly in the Kharkiv region, according to Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service.

Speaking at a briefing hosted by Media Center Ukraine, Demchenko confirmed the activity: “Regarding this year, Kharkiv Oblast is the area where attempts by enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups have already been detected,” he stated.

He further noted that both the Kharkiv and Sumy regions are key targets where the enemy predominantly deploys these groups in an effort to infiltrate Ukrainian territory.
