Intelligence spotted russian planes at an airfield in Belarus 130 kilometers from Ukraine

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Motuzyanyk said during a briefing at «Ukraine» Media Center (Kyiv) there were six planes of russia’s operational-tactical forces in an airfield in Brest region of belarus, 130 kilometers away from the Ukrainian state border. In addition, «Iskander» operational-tactical missile system has been deployed in the Mogilev region. 

«As it became known to our intelligence, there are six planes of russia’s operational-tactical forces in an airfield in the Brest region of belarus, 130 kilometers away from the Ukrainian state border. Also, «Iskander» operational-tactical missile system has been deployed in the Mogilev region, 170 kilometers from the Ukrainian border,» – Motuzyanyk said.

He informed that the situation in the Volyn and Polissya directions «remained without significant changes».

«Certain units of the Armed Forces of the republic of belarus continue strengthening the belarusian-Ukrainian border in the Brest and Gomel regions. At the same time, the enemy’s provocations, subsequently accusing the Armed Forces of Ukraine, cannot be ruled out,» – Motuzyanyk said.

In addition, he noted there still was a threat that the enemy could launch missile strikes on Ukraine’s military and civilian infrastructure from the territory of belarus.
