In Odesa plan to develop tourism through rethinking the “self-identification” of communities – Agency for regional development
This will help make the region attractive for domestic and foreign tourists. Olena Ivanova, head of the office of work with territorial communities of the Agency for regional development of the Odesa oblast, told about this at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.
“Our agency has a separate tourism development sector, and we are starting to work on Ukrainian “self-identification” in the region. We have a lot of colouring, there are many interesting cities that Odesa’s residents don’t know about… Research on this is now starting… We have unique villages that were formed as a German or Swiss colony. And twinning between cities is very relevant now,” the expert noted.
She also added that now, according to the law, each community must develop its own strategic plan for recovery, including the tourism industry. Then these projects will be put on a single platform and will be financed within the framework of the state recovery program.
