In just 2.5 weeks, operators received more requests for humanitarian demining than in the previous year and a half – Humanitarian Demining Center 

The latest phase of the “Humanitarian Demining” program for farmers began in early April. The program is now in its third year. Volodymyr Baida, director of the Humanitarian Demining Center under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, spoke about this at the Ukraine Media Center. 

“This year we already have 123 applications covering over 22,000 hectares. Transparent bidding among demining operators will begin in the coming days. Over the past year and a half, we have received applications for 29,000 hectares. In other words, the program is working,” said Volodymyr Baida. 

Thanks to this initiative, 15,000 hectares of land have been returned to productive use.
