In fall, price of potatoes may be significantly higher than last year – Denys Marchuk
Peak season potato prices continue to remain high, and fall prices may be significantly higher than last year’s.
Denys Marchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Agrarian Council, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“Potatoes may be in a worse situation, again due to weather factors. And accordingly, we see negative consequences in households, because more than 90% of grown potatoes that are sold are from households, and the situation is the same in large scale enterprises. Therefore, we see that the price for it is quite high, which will continue in the peak season. And we in fact expect that in the fall its prices will be significantly higher, compared to last year. And this is actually the weather factor, which led to such a negative effect,” said Denys Marchuk.
