In 2023, number of books published in Ukraine increases to about 21 million copies

In 2023, the number of books published in Ukraine increased to about 21 million copies, while in 2022 there were about 15 million.

Oleksandr Krasovytskyy, writer, Editor in Chief of Folio Publishers, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“According to my estimate, there were around 15 million copies in 2022, which is a three-fold drop from 2021. And in 2023 there was an increase to about 20-21 million copies, excluding educational literature. This is approximately EUR 80-85 million in retail prices in Ukraine’s book market,” said Oleksandr Krasovytskyy.
