Humanitarian aid, social support, and counseling lead online services in Ukraine
Humanitarian assistance, social support, and counseling are the most sought-after services on social portal, which offers a range of online social assistance. The demand for these services is particularly high in areas with significant numbers of IDPs and regions near the front lines.
This was shared by Kostiantyn Koshelenko, Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalization (CDTO), during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“On the soc.gov.ua portal, the social services provided are typically delivered by social workers. Right now, during the war, in-kind assistance is in the highest demand. People in frontline areas and internally displaced persons need basic necessities such as clothes and food. What we once referred to as humanitarian aid is now critical. Additionally, social support and counseling are vital, helping people navigate the types of assistance they can access. This is what people are seeking most,” said Koshelenko.
Koshelenko also highlighted the regions where this need is especially acute. “We can identify specific areas where the demand for social services is growing, particularly in regions with large numbers of IDPs or those closer to the front line,” he added.
