Heat expected to worsen in upcoming years – Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center
Currently, there are trends indicating a worsening of heat conditions in upcoming years.
Natalia Ptukha, Spokesperson of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“It is true, such trends persist. For example, similar conditions were observed not only on the territory of Ukraine and South-Eastern Europe, but also, for example, in the U.S. We had the highest temperatures recorded at the west coast, absolute maximums in the entire history of observations for certain weather stations. And this trend persists, and every year there are more and more warm weather periods with heat waves, and fewer and fewer cold weather periods. There is such a correlation, and climatologists around the world are talking about it,” Natalia Ptukha said.
She also noted that every month of the previous year was abnormally warm with very high temperatures recorded almost all over the globe, and the predicted winter temperature has already been exceeded by 1.5 degrees.
